Bruno Fernandes breaks Premier League assist record in a single season

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has officially broken the Premier League's record for most assists in a single season by registering his 21st assist in the final week of the 2025/26 season.

The record was created when Manchester United faced Brighton & Hove Albion in the ongoing matchday 38 at Falmer Stadium on Sunday.

Fernandes created the Red Devils' opening goal with a corner kick that was met by a powerful header from Patrick Dorgu in the 33rd minute. The assist saw Fernandes surpass his previous record, which had been a joint-record.

Prior to the match, Bruno Fernandes had equaled the record of 20 assists in a single season held by two Premier League legends: Thierry Henry with Arsenal and Kevin De Bruyne with Manchester City.

With an additional assist against Brighton, Fernandes now stands alone at the top of the list as the player with the most assists in a single season in the English top flight, with 21 assists.
