A leading figure in African cinema, he founded the Écrans Noirs International Film Festival in 1997. He dedicated his life to promoting film on the continent and showcasing African talent. The event provides a prestigious platform for African cinema and a unique meeting place for professionals and enthusiasts from around the world.
Born on January 1, 1957 in Nindjé, Bassek Ba Kobiho also made his mark on the 80s thanks to his literary work and in particular works such as Les eaux qui débordent, Sango malo: le maître canton published by l'Harmattan.
