CNN reported that at least 16 US bases in the Middle East have been damaged as a result of Iranian attacks since the start of the war on February 28.
This came according to an investigation conducted by CNN, which relied on satellite images, damage assessment reports, and American and Gulf sources.
The report, published by the channel on Sunday, indicated that the bases suffered varying degrees of damage, including radar systems belonging to the US THAAD missile batteries in Jordan, and radar systems in some facilities in the UAE.
Among the damages was also the destruction of an American Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft during an Iranian attack on an airbase in Saudi Arabia, according to a CNN report.
The report added that some of the affected sites suffered serious operational damage, and that some facilities became unusable.
He noted that the Iranian attacks have largely focused on advanced radar systems deployed throughout the Middle East region, communications infrastructure, missile defense systems, and aircraft.
Last week, US Department of Defense (Pentagon) officials stated during their testimony before Congress that the cost of the US attacks on Iran amounted to about $25 billion, but US media outlets, including CNN and CBS News, reported that the total cost of a war with Iran would be no less than $50 billion.
