Arsenal's decades-long wait ended on Tuesday as Mikel Arteta's side were crowned Premier League champions for the first time since 2004, following Manchester City's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
City needed a win at Bournemouth for the title to be decided on the final day of the season on Sunday. But this draw allowed Arsenal to maintain an insurmountable four-point lead at the top of the table, ending a 22-year wait for the title.
Arsenal fans celebrated wildly outside the Emirates Stadium, setting off flares and partying in the streets. Celebrations also took place at the club's training ground, where the players had gathered to watch the match.
One supporter said: "We've never won the championship since I was born... I'm over the moon, I'm so excited."
Another Arsenal supporter added: "22 years, I've waited my whole life... I can't believe it, I can't believe it, we've won the championship."
It's finally time for celebration and relief for Arteta, after finishing second in the league three years in a row.
In the two consecutive seasons of 2023 and 2024, he watched Pep Guardiola's City close the gap on Arsenal to be crowned champions. And last year, another opportunity was missed, finishing second behind Liverpool.
Once again, Arsenal led the way for most of this season and, although they saw their lead in the standings melt away in a nail-biting finish to the championship, the club finally managed to cross the finish line.
The last Arsenal team to win the title was the one nicknamed "The Invincibles" in 2004, who finished the season without a single league defeat.
