Lens won the French Cup after defeating Nice 3-1 in the final at the Stade de France Stadium, Saint-Denis, Paris, Friday local time.
Lens secured victory thanks to goals from Florian Thauvin, Odsonne Edouard and Abdallah Sima, while Nice managed to reduce the deficit through Djibril Coulibaly, according to Coupe de France records.
This is Lens' first French Cup title in history after previously being runners-up three times in the 1948, 1975 and 1998 editions.
On the other hand, this was Nice's third defeat in the Coupe de France final, having lost in the 1978 and 2022 editions. They had previously won the title in 1952, 1954, and 1997.
Lens managed to take the lead in this match when the match was running 25 minutes through a goal scored by Florian Thauvin so that the score changed to 1-0.
As the first half drew to a close, Lens doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute through a header from Odsonne Edouard.
Entering first-half stoppage time, Nice was able to reduce their deficit to 1-2 through Djibril Coulibaly's header in the 45+3 minute.
Nice had a chance to equalize through Antoine Mendy's header, but the ball hit the Lens goalpost.
Lens extended their lead to 3-1 after Abdallah Sima pounced on a loose ball inside the Nice penalty box in the 78th minute.
Nice immediately responded and threatened Lens' goal with a shot from Kail Boudache, but the ball hit the left post.
In the remaining time, Nice continued to try to reduce the deficit, but until the match ended, the score remained 3-1 for Lens' victory.
