Morocco: Gitex Africa highlights the continent's technological innovations

The largest African exhibition dedicated to tech and startups is being held in Marrakech from April 14 to 16. For its third edition, Gitex Africa brings together more than 1,400 exhibitors from 130 countries to present their latest innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics and smart cities.

Among the companies present, the Moroccan company Prod'air attracts attention with a car equipped with AI, capable of mapping urban space in real time. "All the urban objects that we can find — a tree, a roadway, a sidewalk, a road sign, an advertisement — all of this is detected, recognized as such, and located extremely precisely", explains Omar Guennoun, director general of the company.

Another example of innovation: Magic Drone, a French company that designs AI-assisted air shows. "Thanks to artificial intelligence, we are now working on shows in less than two weeks, compared to three to four previously", says Kader Attou, project director.

Gitex Africa stands out as an unmissable event for thinking about the technological future of the African continent.
