Motoprix 2026 Surabaya will be the stage for young racers in East Java

 

  The opening series of the 2026 Motoprix National Championship  Regional B at the Gelora Bung Tomo (GBT) Circuit in Surabaya last weekend was a stage for the dominance of racers from East Java who performed impressively in several main classes.

From the MP1 Bebek 4 Stroke Tune Up 150cc Expert Race 2 class, East Java racer M. Erfin appeared dominant in the extreme heat of Surabaya to secure victory in front of his own fans.

"Winning the opening round is certainly a source of pride, especially given that it took place in Surabaya with such incredible crowd support. I hope the 2026 Motoprix will grow even bigger and become a platform for the development of Indonesian racers capable of competing at the international level," Erfin said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday.

The competitive atmosphere was felt from the opening session to the final race with tight competition from potential young racers from various regions in Indonesia.

The drama of the competition also unfolded in the 125cc Novice 2-Stroke Standard Underbone class. M. Afin secured the first podium after a fierce 10-lap duel with Hafizd Fahril Rasyadan, who had previously set the fastest lap time.

Meanwhile, Ikrom Gaza completed the top three after performing consistently until the finish line.

In the 116cc Jatim Open 2T Standard Duck class, Tommy Salim performed impressively by dominating the race from the first lap through stable performance and the best time record.

The opening round of the 2026 Motoprix Regional B event in Surabaya was also broadcast live by Garuda TV as the official media broadcasting partner, so that the main series of races could be watched by the wider public.

The opening series marked the revival of national motorsports and demonstrated the increasing quality of domestic motorcycle racing competition.
