Nagelsmann believes the German squad can speak volumes

German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann is confident his current squad can make a big impact at the 2026 World Cup.

The former Bayern Munich coach is confident that the 26 players he has brought with him form a unit that can work well together.

"The most important thing is that we are convinced that this is the best team and that this team will work well together as a group," Nagelsmann was quoted as saying on the DFB website on Saturday.

Nagelsmann just announced a total of 26 players he will take to the 2026 World Cup.
Among the names called up, one is Manuel Neuer, who has been brought back after announcing his retirement from international football in 2024.

Neuer is certainly in the spotlight considering his position will likely take over the main goalkeeper position previously held by Oliver Baumann.

Besides Neuer, regular regulars in the German squad remain in the squad. These include Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rudiger, David Raum, Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz, and Jamal Musiala.

Nagelsmann also called up new players such as Lennant Karl.

“We have some new players with us, as well as others who have been involved for a long time,” said Nagelsmann.

"Working with this team has been a pleasure, and every player has earned their place, both on and off the pitch," added the 38-year-old coach.

The Panzer team at the 2026 World Cup is in Group E along with Curacao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador.
