Poland ready to host 3x3 Basketball World Cup

 

  The Polish city of Warsaw is ready to host the 2026 3x3 Basketball World Cup, which will feature 40 national men's and women's basketball teams.

The FIBA ​​website stated on Friday that the 40 national teams were divided into 20 men's and 20 women's teams each.

The prestigious tournament will take place in the center of Warsaw on Parade Square near the Palace of Culture and Science, an iconic building in the Polish capital.

This tournament will be a tight contest, featuring a number of top countries and emerging teams that are showing improved performance.

In the men's division, there are defending champions Spain who won the title in 2025 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, while in the women's division there are defending champions the Netherlands.

The group stage will take place  using a single round robin system, where all teams in a group meet each other.
