PUBG Mobile SEA ENC 2026 tournament postponed and format changed

The PUBG Mobile competition at the 2026 SEA Esports Nations Cup (ENC) was postponed and the match format changed on the first day of the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on Friday.

Indonesian national esports team head coach Richard Permana said the PUBG Mobile Solo event, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. local time.

"PUBG Solo has been forced to be canceled, postponed, and moved to tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. The rehearsal will begin immediately afterward," Richard told ANTARA via text message.

He explained that the change was made due to the tight match schedule. Originally, the Solo and Duo events were planned to play four games each.

However, the organizers later adjusted the format to a total of four games for the two match numbers, namely two Solo games and two Duo games.

"Previously, Solo was four games, Duo four games. Now it's changed, the total is still four games, but it's divided in half. Solo two games, Duo two games. So after two games, the winner is immediately calculated," said Richard.

According to Richard, the change in schedule and match format caused disappointment among a number of parties involved in the tournament.

"The audience is disappointed, the athletes are disappointed, the federation is disappointed, almost everyone is disappointed by the EO," said Richard.

SEA ENC 2026 took place on May 8-9 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and was the first regional event organized by the Southeast Asia Esports Federation (SEAEF).

Indonesia is fielding representatives in several events, including PUBG Mobile Solo and Duo. In these events, Indonesia is represented by Alan Raynold Kumaseh and Fazriel Haikal Aditya.

A total of 10 countries participated in the PUBG Mobile SEA ENC 2026 number, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Timor Leste, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

The Indonesian national esports team also sent representatives for Teamfight Tactics and Crossfire: Legends.

Crossfire Legends is strengthened by Gede Bagus Panji Narajaya, Ibnu Qayyim Al Jauziah, Kautsar Faruqurrohman Ekatama, Muhammad Ilyas Alfarizi, Riddho Putra Muharam, and Tubagus Mochammad Cipta, Iqbal Mauldhan Yusup as coach.
