Tomsk State University unveiled at the Onovos forum a pink drone called "Flamingo" that can transmit, record, and live stream telemetry data over the internet.

According to a source at the university, the high-speed "Flamingo" aircraft was specifically designed to monitor restricted areas and sensitive facilities.

Lev Kachurin, the project engineer at the university's student drone systems design office, said: "The Flamingo interceptor drone is designed to protect restricted areas and facilities. It boasts a high speed of up to 320 kilometers per hour, compared to its competitors' speeds of between 200 and 240 kilometers per hour, and can carry a payload of up to 300 grams."

He added that the prototype aircraft, a quadcopter weighing approximately 2,200 grams, is ready and currently undergoing testing. It is expected to be used for rapid aerial patrols along designated routes, with the capability to transmit telemetry data online and stream live video in real time.

The engineer pointed out that the design has a special character, as the pink color of the plane was chosen in harmony with its name, "Flamingo".

It should be noted that the All-Russian Forum of Scientists, Engineers and Young Entrepreneurs "ONOFOS" has been held annually in the city of Tomsk since 2014, where the latest research and innovations are presented, and scientific discussion sessions are held on regional development, partnership between universities and the business sector, development of the chemical industry, as well as preparing personnel to achieve technological sovereignty.
