In his first official statement regarding his future after announcing his departure from Liverpool, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah confirmed that he is completely comfortable with his decision to end his career with the "Reds" at the end of the current season.
The Egyptian international will end a trophy-laden nine-year career at Anfield this summer, after reaching an agreement with the club to terminate his two-year contract, which he signed 12 months ago.
"I feel that finishing the season this way is the right decision now, and I am comfortable with it," Salah said in an interview with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard on TNT Sports.
He added: "It was a difficult season for all of us, and I don't want to say more."
He continued: "I'm happy about that. Everything that's happening this season makes me say: No, it's time to leave, so I'm happy."
When asked about his future plans, Salah didn't close any doors, but rather opened the door to widespread speculation by saying: "Honestly, I feel I have a lot to offer: I'm in excellent physical condition, and I've played many games this season. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do, and to be fair, I have many good options."
This season is undoubtedly the most frustrating in Salah's career with Liverpool, as it remains etched in the minds of fans due to the public dispute that erupted between the Egyptian star and coach Arne Slott last December, when Salah accused the manager of "abandoning" him after being excluded from Liverpool's starting lineup amid the team's declining results.
