A study published in the journal "Frontiers in Nutrition" showed that vitamin D may help protect the intestines from inflammation and reduce digestive disorders.

Researchers have discovered that vitamin D not only affects bones, but also the health of the stomach and intestinal lining. It helps maintain the integrity of the intestinal barrier, regulates the immune response, and may reduce inflammation associated with gastrointestinal diseases, including irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease.

The results also showed that a deficiency in this vitamin is associated with an increased incidence of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, intestinal bacterial imbalance, and nutrient absorption problems. Vitamin D supplementation also contributes to reducing levels of inflammation markers and improving quality of life.

Scientists confirm that the intestines contain a large number of vitamin D receptors, and they believe that further research will help in understanding how this vitamin can be used to prevent and treat digestive system diseases.

Many studies indicate that taking vitamin D in specific doses can slow down cell aging, and a deficiency of this vitamin in the body may be associated with higher rates of depression or sometimes sudden hearing loss problems.
