The Indonesia Track Cup was officially held  with six countries participating, namely Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, India, and Malaysia, as part of the international track cycling racing calendar competing for points towards the Olympics.

The Secretary General of the Indonesian Cycling Federation (ICF), Jadi Rajagukguk, said that this championship has important value because it is one of the events to collect high points.

"The champion can earn almost 175 points. This is a mandatory championship, so every country is required to participate and even host it," Jadi said.

He explained that points earned from this event will be accumulated with other championships at the ASEAN and Asian levels as part of the qualification for this year's Asian Games, next year's SEA Games, and the Olympics.

According to him, Indonesia is currently almost certain to qualify for the Olympics in the track event, but the future target is not only to qualify but also to win a medal.
