The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs is concerned about the safety of Indonesian journalists on the Gaza humanitarian mission

 

  Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital  Meutya Hafid strongly condemned the Israeli military's actions in intercepting and detaining the international humanitarian mission group Global Sumud Flotilla  2.0 which was heading to Gaza, Palestine.

The group included Indonesian journalists on journalistic assignments, namely Bambang Noroyono and Thoudy Badai from Republika and Andre Prasetyo Nugroho from Tempo.

"We are following with great concern the news about Indonesian journalists covering a humanitarian mission to Gaza. In the midst of conflict, the safety of journalists must always be our concern," said the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs in a government press statement received .

He emphasized that journalists are there to convey the voice of humanity and facts to the public, therefore they must be respected and given a safe space.
