Two martyrs and injuries in Israeli shelling on Khan Younis, and expansion of the incursion east of the city

The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Palestinian Ahmed Abu Mustafa was killed and four others were injured, as a result of an Israeli drone strike that targeted a gathering of Palestinians in the “Rafah Garage” area in central Khan Younis.

A Palestinian from the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip also died from wounds he sustained in a previous Israeli bombing.

In a related context, Israeli vehicles entered the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Yunis, at dawn on Sunday, amid gunfire and artillery shelling, according to eyewitnesses and local sources.

The sources added that the occupation army pushed the concrete blocks that mark what is known as the “yellow line” tens of meters westward in the “Al-Raqab neighborhood” and “Al-Fajm neighborhood” areas, in a move that means expanding the areas under its control east of the city, coinciding with the demolition of homes in the area and the displacement of a number of families towards the center and west of Khan Younis.

The “yellow line” is a hypothetical border line defined by the ceasefire understandings concluded in October 2025. It is indicated by yellow concrete blocks and separates the areas from which the occupying army withdrew and which are located in the west of the sector, and those which it still occupies in the east.

The bombing operations and the expansion of the areas known as the “yellow line” are among the Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025, as the agreement defined the area of this area in its first phase as about 53% of the area of the sector.

On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged the breach of the agreement and the expansion of the occupation of the Gaza Strip to 60% through similar operations in which the army pushed what is known as the "yellow line" towards the western areas of the Strip.

On September 29, 2025, Trump announced a plan to end the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, the first phase of which includes a ceasefire, a partial Israeli withdrawal, the release of Israeli prisoners, and the entry of 600 truckloads of aid daily.

While Hamas adhered to the commitments of the first phase, Israel reneged on its pledges and continued its attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of hundreds and the injury of hundreds of Palestinians, as well as expanding its control over the sector.

The second phase includes a broader withdrawal of the army from the Gaza Strip and reconstruction, in exchange for the disarmament of the factions, which Israel has also failed to implement and has bypassed by insisting on disarmament first.

Palestinians and human rights organizations consider the Israeli violations of the agreement to be a continuation of the genocide that began on October 8, 2023, but in different forms, through bombing, siege, and preventing the entry of food, medical, and relief aid.

The genocide left more than 72,000 martyrs and more than 172,000 wounded, and caused massive destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
