VivaTech 2025: Africa in the midst of a technological revolution

In Paris, the 9th edition of VivaTech highlights the dynamism of the African continent. And this year, one trend stands out: artificial intelligence.

François Bitouzet, CEO of VivaTech: "If you didn't have cloud computing like France, if you didn't have blockchain like Africa, or massive storage, it doesn't matter, you can start from scratch. Everyone is in the race. And knowing the talent of African digital entrepreneurs, their ability to invent new products and amaze the world, I know that in terms of artificial intelligence, it's a fantastic field of expression for them. "

Among the most visible African delegations this year: Ivory Coast.

Its technological ecosystem is proving to be one of the most dynamic on the continent.

Startups are innovating, particularly in culture and digital technology. Philippe Yacé, founder and CEO of Sellarts: "It's a marketplace that connects artists in the art market—looking for visibility or opportunities—with buyers. So it's really about enabling African artists to export their work abroad through digital technology . "

Senegal is also well represented, with 15 startups seeking funding.

A highlight of the event: the AfricaTech Awards. A competition that rewards the most promising African innovations in key sectors of the continent.

Of the 45 African startups that participated in the AfricaTech Awards, startups from Senegal, Congo and Ivory Coast stood out.
