Nutrition expert Dr. Ekaterina Kim stated that limiting oneself to one meal a day may lead to negative biochemical changes and disturbances in the body.
She says: "Eating only one meal a day is not normal. Because a person's weaknesses determine the imbalances they may suffer from. And this is certainly not necessary for weight loss."
The expert points out that excess weight is gained over many years, so it is difficult for a person who is overweight to get rid of it quickly.
She says: "The body interprets this as a sign that a difficult time is approaching, and it needs to prepare. Therefore, metabolism begins to slow down, and everything that comes in is stored, even excess fat. Moreover, a person feels stressed when they do not get enough nutrition."
According to her, stress triggers negative biochemical changes in the body, which warrant a doctor's consultation.
She points out that anyone who wants to lose excess weight should realize that this is a gradual process and requires changes in diet.
She says: “If we impose strict restrictions, we will not succeed. Because they lead to disturbances in the body, frustration, and mood swings, and the weight that the person lost is quickly regained. Therefore, the person must focus on the long term, and gradually change his lifestyle and diet, and then he will achieve the optimal balance between muscle mass and fat, and his health will improve, and his mood will improve.”
