The sixth session of the International Scientific Forum "Ophthalmology for the Elderly - Innovative Solutions" will be held in Moscow on May 14 and 15, with the participation of several countries, including Arab countries.
The forum's events will take place at the Lomonosov Complex (Moscow - Ramensky Street-1), with the participation of specialists in the fields of clinical ophthalmology, gerontology, medical sciences, and digital technologies. Specialists from Russia and several countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, India, Egypt, the United Kingdom, and France, will participate in person or via video technology.
The forum's activities are supervised by the Russian M.M. Krasnov Research Institute of Ophthalmology, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the Russian Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the International Keratoconus Association, to form a major international platform for the exchange of experiences between specialists in the fields of ophthalmology and gerontology.
The forum's theme is directly aligned with the Russian state's priorities in healthcare and population development. Decree No. 309 of the Russian President, dated May 7, 2024, sets national goals, including raising the average life expectancy of the population to 78 years by 2030 and to 81 years by 2036.
