The Russian Ministry of Digital Development announced the lifting of the ban on the popular gaming platform Roblox, making the platform available to users again in Russia.

A statement issued by the ministry's press service read: "Roblox has fully complied with Russian legislation to ensure the safety of users. The online gaming service is now available throughout Russia. Roblox is also committed to continuing to combat the spread of inappropriate content on its platform."

The ministry's press service indicated that "the platform has implemented a range of measures to better protect children," specifically, a mechanism has been launched to restrict access to games based on age group.

The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) had previously announced restrictions on access to the platform in Russia starting from December 3, 2025. On June 9, the agency and the Ministry of Digital Development in Russia announced that they had received assurances from Roblox that it would comply with Russian laws, so the ban on the platform would be lifted.

On the other hand, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian presidency, told TASS that all foreign internet services and applications such as Telegram and YouTube can return to work in Russia if they comply with Russian laws, and said: "The Roblox incident clearly shows that all services can return if they comply with the law."
