Geek Fam defeated Team Liquid Indonesia (TLID) with a score of 3-1 in the second day of the playoff round of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia (MPL ID) Season 17 at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Thursday, to advance to the upper bracket semifinals.
This result brings Geek Fam closer to a ticket to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026, while TLID must drop to the lower bracket semifinals to continue their struggle.
"Hopefully, we can secure a ticket to the EWC. I don't want to give up hope for the Geek Fam community, but I'm very grateful they came here. But we're not done here yet, we haven't achieved anything. We can celebrate today, but we'll focus again tomorrow," said Geek Fam captain Baloyskie after the match, as broadcast on the MPL Indonesia channel.
Geek Fam dominated from the first game, controlling the game through objective control. They secured three turtles and turned that advantage into sustained pressure on TLID.
Geek Fam closed the first game in the 13th minute with a commanding 16-3 lead in elimination points. Nazara, who played aggressively throughout the match, including several solo kills, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the first game.
In the second game, TLID put up a tougher fight, taking the match into the late game for 21 minutes. However, Geek Fam once again demonstrated their superiority in objective control.
