In the presence of the King, Messi ends Jordan's resurgence with a work of art

In the presence of King Abdullah II of Jordan in the stands of the Dallas stadium, the Argentine national team achieved its third victory in the group stage of the World Cup, defeating Jordan 3-1 in the early hours of Sunday.

Giovani Lo Celso scored Argentina's opening goal in the 19th minute, before Lautaro Martinez added a second goal in the 31st minute from a penalty kick.

Musa Al-Taamari narrowed the gap for Jordan in the 55th minute, then substitute Lionel Messi scored a third goal for Argentina in the 80th minute.

The Tango team raised its tally to 9 points at the top of Group 10, and will meet Cape Verde in the round of 32 of the tournament on July 3.

As for the Jordanian national team, they bid farewell to the World Cup after their first participation, as they remain in last place in their group with no points.

Both teams played an open, attacking game, but given the superior attacking weapons of Argentina even in the absence of their captain and top scorer Lionel Messi, the danger came from Argentina from the beginning.

In the sixth minute, the Latin American team almost took the lead through Lo Celso from a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the offside flag was raised.

The Argentine pressure continued, resulting in the first goal, which came from a free kick awarded to the team on the edge of the penalty area. Lo Celso shot it brilliantly into the net of goalkeeper Yazeed Abu Laila.

In the 30th minute, Jordan's defender, Muhannad Abu Taha, made a mistake inside the penalty area against Julian Alvarez in an attempt to clear his header, which the goalkeeper saved after an initial attempt by Lautaro Martinez that hit the crossbar.

After consulting VAR, the referee awarded a penalty to the defending champions, which Lautaro Martinez converted in the 31st minute, scoring his country's second goal and his first in the tournament.

The Jordanian team tried to reach the goal of Argentina's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, but their attempts did not rise to the level of danger, and the first half ended with Argentina in the lead.

At the start of the second half, Argentina almost scored a third goal, but the offside flag was raised against Martinez.

Jordan's striker, Musa Al-Taamari, wrote a new chapter of brilliance in the World Cup, as he scored the goal to reduce the deficit for "Al-Nashama" in the 55th minute, following up on Ihsan Haddad's cross in front of the goal.

This is Jordan’s third goal in the World Cup after scoring in the previous two matches, through Nizar Al-Rashdan and Ali Alwan.

Al-Taamari had come on as a substitute for Ali Al-Azaizeh at the start of the second half, and rewarded his coach by scoring a goal to reduce the deficit.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni gave captain Lionel Messi the opportunity to participate in the 60th minute, replacing Lautaro Martinez, while Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister came on as a substitute for Nico Paz.

Messi scored Argentina's third goal from a free kick in the 80th minute, after he shot a deceptive ground ball past the defense and the goalkeeper.

With this goal, Messi became the first player to score in 7 consecutive matches in the World Cup finals.

The Argentine players tried to score more goals in the final minutes, but the attempts did not result in anything new.
