Indonesian women's doubles team secures a place in the semifinals of the Indonesia Open

Indonesia's women's doubles team secured a spot in the semifinals of the 2026 Polytron Indonesia Open after two home pairs, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, both advanced to the quarterfinals.

Febriana/Meilysa, who are familiarly known as Ana/Trias, first secured their ticket to the top eight after eliminating seventh seeds from Taiwan Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En-Tzu through a three-game battle of 13-21, 21-17, 21-15 at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno.

After that, Rachel/Febi followed up to the quarterfinals after defeating the United States pair Francesca Corbett/Jennie Gai with a score of 21-18, 17-21, 21-13.

This result means Ana/Trias and Rachel/Febi will face each other in the quarterfinals. Indonesia has thus secured a place in the semifinals of the women's doubles event at the BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament.

Ana/Trias had to work hard to secure a win over Hsieh/Hung. They lost the first game after struggling to keep up with their opponents' aggressive play with an attacking style and no lobs.

However, Ana/Trias improved their game in the second game. They began to be more patient in controlling the tempo and exploited the court conditions to overcome the pressure from the Taiwanese pair.

In the deciding game, Ana/Trias appeared more confident. They were able to maintain control of the match, while Hsieh/Hung made several errors while trying to pressure the Indonesian pair's defense.

Meanwhile, Rachel/Febi also had to overcome a tough match to catch Ana/Trias in the quarterfinals. They were forced to play three games by Corbett/Gai before closing out the match with a 21-18, 17-21, 21-13 victory.

Besides Ana/Trias and Rachel/Febi, Indonesia still has the opportunity to add representatives to the quarterfinals through Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi who will face the Hong Kong pair Yeung Nga Ting/Yeung Pui Lam.
