Iran bombs Israel and warns it of devastating attacks if it retaliates

The Israeli army announced on Sunday that Iran had launched missiles towards the territory of the Jewish state, for the first time since the ceasefire declared on April 8.

The Israeli army said in a statement: “A short time ago, alerts were activated in a number of areas within the country, following the detection of missiles launched from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel.”

He explained that sirens sounded in large areas of northern and central Israel, including the cities of Haifa, Caesarea and Hadera.

A few minutes after its first statement, the army issued two additional statements, in which it indicated that two new batches of Iranian missiles had been detected.

He confirmed that “the Air Force has so far intercepted all missiles launched from Iran,” adding that “air defense systems continue to identify and intercept threats.”

Israeli military: Iran “made a grave mistake” by launching the missile attack

The Israeli military said Iran made a “grave mistake” by launching a missile attack on Israel on Sunday.

Israeli military spokesman Efi Defrin said in a televised statement, “The Iranian terrorist regime has made a grave mistake by once again choosing the path of terrorism.”

The Israeli ambulance service, Magen David Adom, announced that a 79-year-old woman from northern Israel was moderately injured while heading to a fortified room (shelter) following the firing of missiles from the direction of Iran. She was transferred to Rambam Hospital in Haifa for treatment.

In a related context, the Director General of Magen David Adom, Eli Bin, reported that a shell had landed near the Kfar Yehoshua train station without causing any injuries, noting that ambulance crews provided assistance to several people who sustained minor injuries while rushing to shelters, according to the Ynet website.

For its part, the Israeli Home Front Command announced that residents could now leave fortified rooms and safe houses in all areas after the danger had passed.

For its part, the Iranian armed forces command said on Sunday that Israel had “crossed all red lines” by striking the southern suburbs of Beirut, stressing the need to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

“The Zionist army must stop its attacks on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut,” said Ali Abdullah Aliabadi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, the central operations room of the Iranian armed forces. “If it expands its attacks or responds to the Iranian action, it will face more crushing and destructive strikes,” he said, without any direct reference to the missile launches that Israel said it had intercepted.

Iran: We targeted Ramat David Airbase with ballistic missiles

The Iranian army announced on Sunday evening that it had targeted the Ramat David airbase in Israel with ballistic missiles.

The Iranian army explained in a statement that the base was the launching point for Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

He said that targeting the base came “in response to the massacres committed by the Zionist entity against civilians in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.”

The statement added that the attack had a “warning” character.

He accused the United States and Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement signed on April 8 several times.

The statement emphasized that any repetition of the attacks would be met with a broader and more severe Iranian response.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard: Missile attack on Israel serves as a "warning"

Iran said on Sunday that its missile strikes on Israel were a “warning” in response to its bombing of Beirut’s southern suburbs, warning that any further attack would be met with a “stronger response.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement, “Tonight’s operation serves as a warning. If such attacks are repeated, the response will be broader and will target all American-Zionist targets in the region.”

A warning message to stop the attacks on Lebanon

Iran’s Supreme Leader’s military advisor, Mohsen Rezaei, said that Iran’s missile launches toward Israel were “a warning message to stop its hostile actions” in Lebanon.

Rezaei added that any “new hostile act will be met with a stronger and more costly response,” according to Bloomberg News, citing the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA).

He stressed that Iran has repeatedly declared that it will not tolerate any violation of the ceasefire or any attacks targeting Lebanon.

Iran threatened earlier on Sunday to target US and Israeli interests in the Middle East after an Israeli raid on Beirut's southern suburbs killed two people.

Araghchi spoke by phone with his British and Turkish counterparts and the Pakistani mediator.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held talks Sunday evening on the “latest developments” in the Middle East with his British and Turkish counterparts, as well as the Pakistani mediator, the Foreign Ministry said.

These separate talks with British and Turkish foreign ministers Yvette Cooper and Hakan Fidan, and Pakistani army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, focused on “Iran’s response to the repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon by the Zionist regime,” according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

Sirens sound in Jordan

Sirens sounded in several Jordanian governorates on Sunday evening, coinciding with the announcement that Iran had launched missiles towards Israel.

An eyewitness reported that sirens sounded, and explosions were heard as air defenses intercepted targets in the skies over Israel.

Earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the naval blockade imposed on the Islamic Republic, coupled with the green light given to Israel by the United States today, transforms the bases and assets of both countries in the region into “legitimate targets.”
Ghalibaf explained in a post on the “X” platform that they are not committed to a ceasefire and do not believe in negotiations, according to a Bloomberg report on Sunday.
He added that through the naval blockade and their violation of agreements related to Lebanon, they have proven that they understand only the language of force.
