Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, has been spruced up to welcome the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1000 Polytron Indonesia Open 2026, which will take place from June 2-7.
A day before the tournament, preparations were underway at the Istora. The committee was arranging the competition area, beautifying the corners of the arena, and preparing various supporting facilities to welcome athletes, officials, media, and spectators.
"This year's Indonesia Open is not just a world-class badminton tournament, but also a sports entertainment experience that is closer to the community," said Achmad Budiharto, Chairman of the Polytron Indonesia Open 2026 Organizing Committee, at a press conference.
The Indonesia Open has long been known as one of the most atmospheric tournaments on the global badminton calendar. The enthusiastic support of the Istora crowd is often a major draw, not only for Indonesian players but also for international players competing.
Budiharto said the committee is striving to maintain this character by providing a more organized, comfortable, and accessible event. He stated that the competition remains the primary focus, but the spectator experience is also a key consideration.
