Indonesian women's tennis players Janice Tjen and Aldila Sutjiadi cruised into the semifinals of the 2026 Nottingham Open doubles after winning in straight sets in the quarterfinals in Nottingham, England.
Janice/Aldila, who were seeded third in the WTA 250 grasscourt event, successfully defeated Miriam Kolodziejova/Jesika Maleckova with a strong victory of 6-1, 6-2 in just 57 minutes, according to WTA records.
The Indonesian women's doubles team dominated the match, winning four consecutive games early in the first set. WTA statistics also show they were superior in first-serve points and returns.
Kolodziejova/Maleckova managed to steal a game to disrupt Janice/Aldila's rhythm, but the Indonesian pair won the next two games to secure the first set.
Janice/Aldila continued their strong performance into the second set, committing only one double fault, while their opponents recorded five double faults.
Armed with their powerful serves, Janice/Aldila also managed to land 81.8 percent of their first serves and won 77.8 percent of their first serve points.
The statistics carried a similar scenario to the first set into the second. However, this time, Kolodziejova/Maleckova held Janice/Aldila to a 2-5 lead. The Indonesian women's doubles pair won the eighth game to end the Czech pair's resistance.
The win takes Janice/Aldila into the semifinals to meet the winner of the other quarterfinal match between top seeds Storm Hunter/Caty Mcnally or Maia Lumsden/Harriet Dart.
Janice/Aldila are looking to repeat their success from last year when they won the WTA 125 Suzhou title in China and the WTA 250 Chennai title in India.
Meanwhile, Janice is chasing her third doubles title of the season after lifting the trophies at the WTA 250 Hobart with Katarzyna Piter and the WTA 125 Birmingham with Talia Gibson.
