Technical talks between the United States and Iran to resume next week

The United States and Iran will resume technical talks next week following the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, Pakistan, which is leading mediation efforts between the two sides, announced Wednesday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andarabi said in Islamabad, “The talks will resume next week.” The Pakistani official did not specify the location or date of the next round, suggesting Tuesday as a likely possibility, but not ruling out Monday or Wednesday.

The two sides held lengthy talks on Sunday in Switzerland, initially led by political delegations and later supplemented by technical teams. The memorandum of understanding signed last Wednesday stipulated negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement within a 60-day period, which could be extended.
