The death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza rises to 72,956 martyrs; Hamas: International community's inaction encourages the occupation

Eleven Palestinians were killed and 32 others were injured in the last 24 hours as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting residential apartments in various areas of Gaza City, according to local and medical sources.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that the number of Palestinian victims of the Israeli genocide has risen to 72,956 martyrs, in addition to 173,043 wounded since October 8, 2023.

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal confirmed that “eight martyrs and a number of wounded fell in Israeli occupation raids on Gaza City at dawn.”

For its part, Al-Shifa Medical Hospital reported receiving the bodies of eight people and 15 wounded as a result of the Israeli raids, noting that “the martyrs are Manar Ibrahim Labad, Hassan Rabah Labad and their children Muhammad, Rahaf and Tamim.”

Basal said that his crews “transported two martyrs and several injuries, one of them serious, after an Israeli raid on an apartment in a building in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood” southwest of Gaza City.

He added that “a martyr and several injuries were transferred following two air raids on a house and a residential apartment northwest of the city.”

11 martyrs and dozens of injuries in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday in its daily statistical report: “The total number of those who arrived at the hospitals of the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours reached 11 new martyrs and 32 injuries.”

She confirmed that a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, “as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them.”

Every day, Israel violates the ceasefire agreement since October 10, 2025, through bloody bombing that leaves dead, wounded, and widespread destruction.

The ministry said that since the ceasefire, “the total number of martyrs is 947, and the number of injuries is 2,935.”

The total number of victims reached “72,956 martyrs and 173,043 injuries”, according to the statement.

In addition to the victims, most of whom are children and women, Israel destroyed 90 percent of the infrastructure, with the cost of reconstruction estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.

Israel is also violating the agreement by preventing the entry of agreed quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials and prefabricated homes into Gaza, where some 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced people, are living in catastrophic conditions.

Hamas: International community's inaction encourages Israel to resume its genocide in Gaza

Hamas said on Thursday that the inaction of the international community, the United Nations and the guarantors of the ceasefire in Gaza in deterring Israel encourages Tel Aviv to resume genocide and implement plans for forced displacement.

This came in a statement from the movement following Israeli raids that targeted homes in Gaza City, which it said resulted in the deaths of 10 Palestinians, including children.

She added that “the inaction of the international community, the United Nations and the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, and their failure to take deterrent measures against the occupation, encourages Netanyahu’s government to continue these systematic attacks.”

She added that “these attacks aim to resume the war of extermination and implement plans for forced displacement.”

The movement accused Israel of continuing to target civilians in the Gaza Strip, noting that the recent raids hit various areas and caused deaths and injuries, including women and children.

She said that this is “an extension of the ongoing genocidal war against our Palestinian people despite the ceasefire agreement.”

Hamas called on the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement to "assume their political and legal responsibilities to stop Israeli crimes," urging them to take practical steps to prevent the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The movement also called on the peoples of the world to intensify solidarity movements with the Palestinians, and to work to prosecute Israeli officials before international courts and hold them accountable for the violations committed against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

In 1948, Israel was established on lands occupied by armed Zionist gangs who committed massacres and displaced at least 750,000 Palestinians. Tel Aviv refuses to withdraw and allow the establishment of the Palestinian state stipulated in UN resolutions.
