The Polytron Indonesia Open 2026 is a momentum to revive the passion of the Indonesian badminton ecosystem by organizing a world-class tournament that combines aspects of achievement, coaching, entertainment, and support for the national sports industry.

PBSI Chairman M. Fadil Imran said the BWF World Tour 1000 level tournament is not just a competition for the world's elite players, but a shared stage for all elements of Indonesian badminton.

"We are grateful and appreciate the support of all strategic partners, sponsors, clubs, coaches, athletes, media, communities, and badminton fans who continue to work together to support the progress of Indonesian badminton," Fadil said at a press conference.

The 2026 Indonesia Open will take place at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Senayan, Jakarta, from June 2-7. A total of 248 athletes from 22 countries will compete for a total prize pool of US$1.45 million.

Fadil said the Indonesia Open is a concrete example of the importance of the spirit of mutual cooperation in maintaining the pulse of national badminton.

"PBSI is the home of Indonesian badminton. Therefore, we believe that the success of a tournament as large as the Indonesia Open is never built by one party alone, but by the spirit of mutual cooperation of the entire ecosystem," said Fadil.

He said sponsors play a role in providing world-class events, PBSI maintains the direction of coaching and governance, athletes get the best stage, and the public gets the experience of watching badminton live.

Fadil added that successful organization and achievement must go hand in hand. PBSI, he said, continues to prioritize athlete development and regeneration as a major undertaking, leading up to various important events, including the 2026 Asian Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"Good events and strong coaching must go hand in hand," said Fadil.
