50 years of Indonesian satellites have become a new point of growth for national satellites

The Director General of Digital Infrastructure at the Ministry of Communication and Digital , Wayan Toni Supriyanto, said that the momentum of the 50th anniversary of Indonesian satellites must become a new point of growth for national satellites.

According to Wayan, if on July 8, 1976, Indonesia successfully launched Palapa A1 as the first satellite amidst challenges in financing and manufacturing, then in the digital era, the national satellite industry should be able to rise and grow to become a host in its own country.

"We must use the momentum of the 50th anniversary of the Indonesian satellite as a new starting point, not just to remember past glory but to rekindle the spirit to stand on our own two feet in the satellite sector," said Wayan at the 50th anniversary of the Indonesian satellite at the BJ Habibie BRIN Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday.

Wayan brought up the history of Indonesia's first satellite, Palapa A1, which at its launch became an important moment for all of Indonesia.
