70 Syrians appointed by the Sharaa to the new Syrian parliament… Who are they? And how were they distributed across the governorates?







The Supreme Elections Committee in Syria announced on Wednesday the names of the remaining third of the People’s Assembly members appointed by Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa.

According to Al-Thawra newspaper, the list consists of 70 names, including 55 men and 15 women, distributed as 47 competent individuals and 23 prominent figures.

The list includes 5 people with special needs, 13 former detainees, 17 high school graduates, 4 institute graduates, 2 diploma holders, 18 university graduates, 12 master's degree holders, and 17 doctoral degree holders.

The list also includes 4 human rights activists, 7 medical professionals, 5 engineers, 6 educators, 4 religious figures, 6 businessmen, 15 politicians and activists, 5 economists and administrators, and one writer.

The members were distributed across the governorates as follows: 14 from Aleppo, 7 from Hasakah, 6 from Homs, 6 from Deir ez-Zor, 5 from Idlib, 5 from Hama, 5 from Damascus, 5 from Rural Damascus, 4 from Latakia, 4 from Daraa, 3 from Raqqa, 2 from Tartus, and 2 from Suwaida.
