During his "Brazil for Women" campaign, Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro pledged to provide internet access to 70 million women in the country and secure mobile phones for those unable to afford them.
"We have already held negotiations with mobile network operators, who are showing full interest in helping us and the government to provide access to these 70 million women via mobile phones," Bolsonaro said during the presentation of his program "Brasil por Elas" on his YouTube channel.

He added: "In addition, as part of the election campaign, we are discussing the possibility of providing the same mobile phones to people who cannot afford them."
According to the politician, internet access will enable women to use a unified digital platform for government services, as well as an AI-powered virtual assistant called "Maria".
Through it, one can obtain information in audio or written form, register for medical examinations, search for nurseries and job opportunities, set up private projects, obtain entrepreneurship loans, and request assistance.
Bolsonaro indicated that the program aims to expand access to digital services, and may extend in the future to include the elderly as well.
