German tennis player Laura Siegemund had a heated argument with her French mixed doubles partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin, following their quarter-final loss at Wimbledon.
Sigmund and her French partner lost to Latvian Jelena Ostapenko and Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador.
The match was very tense, with the score at 7-7 in the tiebreaker of the second set, when the German player received a second warning for exceeding the allowed time for serving, before committing a double fault and losing the point, allowing the opposing duo to take a 9-7 lead and win the set and the match.
Siegemund and Roger-Vasselin had lost the first set 4-6 to the duo of Latvian player Ostapenko and Salvadoran player Arevalo.
Following the end of the match, Siegemund refused to shake hands with Ostapenko and also got into a heated argument with her mixed doubles partner and the umpire, asserting that Ostapenko herself was taking longer than allowed when serving.
I love jelena osta ever since she won her maiden roland garros grandslam. Gusto ko talaga yung pangrerealtalk niya sa ghaghang laura siegemund na every game kala mo may dala dalang kaserola sa court para magluto ng pancit canton just to serve. Damaging delays pic.twitter.com/foUY90T1VQ
The German player criticized the referee's decision to punish her, arguing that such situations required "a greater degree of tact and sensitivity."

Ostapenko responded by saying, "Learn how to lose."
