Spanish national team star Lamine Yamal admitted he felt no pressure at all ahead of the 2026 World Cup semifinal against France at Dallas Stadium, United State.
This is La Furia Roja's most important match since the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa. They are now one step closer to reaching the final, but first they must overcome a major obstacle: France, the 2018 World Cup champions and 2022 finalists.
"We know how to deal with difficulties. As for pressure, I don't feel it," said Yamal, who just turned 19 yesterday, as quoted on the official.
"You've said it yourself that I'm not in top form. So you shouldn't expect too much from me. But I'm sure tomorrow will be a special day," he said.
Yamal has only scored one goal at the 2026 World Cup, but he is not worried about that because his contribution on the pitch is not just about goals or assists.
For Yamal, this is his second major tournament semifinal appearance, having led Spain to the 2024 European Championship title. That time, a goal from Yamal sent his country to the final, defeating France 2-1.
