Saudi Arabian football club Al-Ahli, the Asian champions, announced the signing of Armenian playmaker Eduard Spirtsyan from Russian club Krasnodar, in a deal estimated at around $25 million.

The Armenian player signed a four-season contract until 2030 with an option to extend for an additional season. The signing of the 26-year-old Armenian star was intended to bolster the team's attacking options and playmaking behind the strikers.

Spertsyan is distinguished by his excellent vision and decisive passes, having finished his last season as the top assist provider in the Russian league with 16 assists and 13 goals.

The Armenian fans gave him the nickname "the new Mkhitaryan" in comparison to the Armenian football legend and current Inter Milan star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, due to the great similarity between them in the playmaker position, high skill, and ability to score and create goals.

Spertsyan progressed through the age groups of the Krasnodar academy until he reached the first team and became its captain and one of the most prominent stars of the Russian league. He is an Armenian international professional football player who plays in the attacking midfield and playmaker position.
