Al Ahly club responded to news of an offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad to sign Imam Ashour during the upcoming summer transfer window after his outstanding performance with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup.
The Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadh” reported that the management of Al-Ittihad Club submitted an offer to Al-Ahly Club amounting to $6 million to buy Imam Ashour’s contract, in addition to an annual salary for the player of $4 million.
She explained that Al-Ahly rejected the offer from Al-Ittihad and insisted on receiving a higher financial compensation, noting that Imam Ashour currently receives an annual salary of $315,000.
A source at Al-Ahly club confirmed: "What has been circulating about an offer from Al-Ittihad Saudi Club to sign Imam Ashour is incorrect."
The source stressed that Al-Ahly club has not received any offer to sign the player so far, noting that the club’s management would not object to the player’s departure if there was a financial offer of $8 million.
It is worth noting that Al-Ahly signed Imam Ashour in July 2023, coming from Midtjylland of Denmark, for about $3 million.
