Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi put on a dominant performance to secure a spot in the women's doubles semifinals of the 2026 Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, United States, after defeating host pair Clervie Ngounoue/Anna Smith in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Aldila and New Zealand's Erin Routliffe, the second seed, won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 in a match that lasted one hour and 13 minutes, according to the WTA.
Aldila/Erin immediately took the initiative from the opening set. They broke their opponents' serve in the second game to take a 2-1 lead, then broke Ngounoue/Smith's serve again in the eighth game before closing out the first set with a 6-3 victory.
The Indonesian-New Zealand pair's dominance continued in the second set. A break in the opening game gave Aldila/Erin the upper hand.
Despite losing serve in the fifth game to 2-3, they quickly responded by winning three straight games, including two breaks of serve, to seal a 6-2 victory.
