The US chargé d'affaires in Venezuela, John Barrett, announced that the United States has provided Caracas with $310 million in aid to remove the consequences of the devastating earthquake that struck the country.

VOZ quoted the American diplomat as saying: "So far, American humanitarian aid related to those measures has exceeded $310 million."

Barrett added that Venezuela is "fully" implementing Washington's requests regarding the rapid distribution of humanitarian aid.

It is worth noting that the earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24th measured 7.5 on the Richter scale, making it the strongest earthquake in the region in recent years and resulting in the death of more than 3,500 people.
