FIFA has revealed the shortlist of goals nominated for the best goal award in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, after the conclusion of this round of competitions.
The round of 16 matches witnessed 23 goals, before FIFA settled on six goals to compete for the award, including an Arab goal scored by Moroccan Azzedine Ounahi, in addition to two goals from the match between Argentina and Egypt.

FIFA explained that voting for the award will remain open for 48 hours via the federation's official website, and the winning goal will be announced as soon as the voting process ends.
The round of 16 competitions concluded on Tuesday evening with the matches between Egypt and Argentina and Switzerland and Colombia, thus determining the teams that qualified for the quarter-finals.
The award for best goal in the group stage went to Uzbekistan's captain Eldor Shomurodov, while Cape Verde's Sidney Lopes Cabral won the award for best goal in the round of 32.
