Araghchi: US threats are an obstacle to reaching a final agreement

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that talks aimed at reaching a final agreement between Tehran and Washington will not begin if US threats continue, following US President Donald Trump's threat to "finish the job" if no agreement is reached.

Araghchi wrote in a post on X: “Negotiations on the final agreement will not begin if the threats continue. Respect your signature.”

Araghchi's post was referring to an interim agreement signed by Iran and the United States last month, which calls on both sides to refrain from threatening or using force against each other.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington would either reach an agreement with Iran or "finish the job." He added that he personally preferred reaching an agreement.
