Saudi reports have confirmed that the issue of Frenchman Karim Benzema leaving the ranks of the Saudi Al-Hilal team has become complicated after he refused to leave the club during the current summer transfer window.
A source told Al-Riyadh newspaper that Al-Hilal club management suggested to Karim Benzema that he move to one of the newly promoted clubs in the Saudi Professional League during the current transfer period, but the player categorically rejected the idea.
The source explained that Karim Benzema stipulated receiving all his financial dues for the last year of his contract, which gives him the freedom to choose his next destination without interference from Al-Hilal's management.
It is worth noting that Benzema played 13 matches with Al-Hilal in various competitions since joining the Saudi club, scoring nine goals, including two hat-tricks, and providing five assists, before being attacked by fans due to his declining attacking performance last season.
