French national team coach Didier Deschamps admitted he made mistakes when his team suffered a 4-6 defeat to England in the third-place match at the 2026 World Cup at Miami Stadium, United States, on Sunday.
Deschamps made a mistake when France were four goals down at halftime. He then made quick changes in the second half, bringing on four players at once: Lucas Digne, Dayot Upamecano, Ousmane Dembele, and Bradley Barcola.
"It was my fault. I didn't do what I should have done in the first half," Deschamps said, as quoted on FIFA's official website on Sunday.
