Five killed and six bodies recovered: Widespread bombings in various parts of the Gaza Strip

Five Palestinians were killed and several others were injured on Saturday in separate Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, coinciding with extensive demolition operations carried out by the Israeli army in the south and north of the Strip.

Civil defense crews were able to recover the remains of 6 people killed under the rubble of a destroyed building in Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that four Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli raids on Saturday, before Al-Shifa Medical Complex later announced the death of another Palestinian and the injury of a number of citizens as a result of shelling that targeted the Al-Faluja area west of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll for the day to five martyrs.

In Gaza City, an Israeli drone targeted a group of citizens near the Asqoula intersection in the Zeitoun neighborhood, resulting in the death of Mohammed Najib Ashour and injuries to others. Medical sources later announced the death of a Palestinian who succumbed to his wounds following a bombing that targeted citizens near the Abu Sharikh intersection in the northern Gaza Strip.

In northern Gaza, five Palestinians were injured in a bombing carried out by an Israeli drone west of Jabalia, while artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli vehicles continued towards the western areas of Beit Lahia, with tank movements in the Sea Street area northwest of Gaza City.

In the southern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army carried out extensive demolition operations east of Khan Younis, concentrated around the Bani Suheila roundabout and north of the Islamic Complex Street, where plumes of smoke rose as a result of the demolition of residential buildings. Demolition operations also continued northeast of the city, coinciding with tank fire west of Rafah.

In the central sector, Israeli artillery shelled areas east of the Bureij camp, while a reconnaissance plane targeted the camp, and Israeli forces fired illumination bombs in the skies of Bureij and Qarara, north of Khan Yunis.

For its part, the Civil Defense in Gaza announced the recovery of the remains of six martyrs from under the rubble of the “Al-Massa” building in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, confirming that the search and recovery operations are still continuing for the seventh day in a row.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced earlier on Saturday that the sector’s hospitals received 16 martyrs and 16 wounded during the hours of Friday and Saturday, bringing the total toll since the start of the war on October 7, 2023 to 73,090 martyrs and 173,553 wounded, while the number of martyrs since the ceasefire came into effect reached 1,066 martyrs, in addition to 797 cases of bodies being recovered from different areas in the sector.
