Iran: 30 civilians and 7 soldiers killed in US airstrikes in recent days

The Iranian government spokesman announced that more than 30 civilians were killed in US airstrikes targeting Iran “in recent days.”

The semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted the Iranian military as saying on Wednesday that at least seven of its soldiers were killed in US airstrikes targeting an Iranian military base in Bampur overnight.

The military said the raids were aimed at inflicting maximum casualties, with 13 missiles hitting hospitality areas, guard posts and accommodation facilities at the base near the southeastern city of Iranshahr.

He added that a number of soldiers were wounded, and vowed a "firm response" to the attack.

In this context, the coastal city of Bushehr, located in southwestern Iran and home to the Islamic Republic’s only nuclear power plant, was subjected to new US strikes on Wednesday that did not result in any casualties, according to the official news agency IRNA.

“The American enemy attacked three sites in Bushehr today,” Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozaffari told the agency, a day after another attack that is part of an escalation in confrontations between Tehran and Washington.
