Iran announces targeting of a military site near Bushehr; Netanyahu and Trump agree to continue coordination

Several explosions rocked provinces in southern Iran on Thursday evening, while Iranian authorities announced that a military site near the city of Bushehr had been attacked. Meanwhile, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a phone call with US President Donald Trump during which they agreed to continue coordination between the two sides.

Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported that an “American-Israeli” projectile hit a military base on the outskirts of Bushehr, hours after renewed strikes between the United States and Iran.

The agency quoted Bushehr Deputy Governor Ehsan Jahanian as saying that “a military headquarters in the outskirts of Bushehr was attacked a short while ago and hit by a projectile fired by the American-Zionist enemy.”

In contrast, a US defense official denied that the US military is currently carrying out any strikes on Iran.

In this context, the semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr reported hearing explosions in the southern provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Bushehr and Hormozgan.

According to the agency, three explosions were heard in the city of Konarak in Sistan and Baluchestan province, two explosions in the Chugadak area of Bushehr province, in addition to several explosions in the city of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province, without providing details about the nature of the explosions or their causes.

These developments come as the US attacks on Iran continue for the third day in a row, according to Iranian media.

In Israel, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which they agreed to continue coordination between the two countries on various fronts.

The office added in a statement that Trump briefed Netanyahu on “American moves in the Gulf,” in light of the ongoing military escalation between Washington and Tehran.
