He achieved this record after finishing the 2026 World Cup with seven goals, thanks to his additional goal in the 6-4 victory over France in the third-place match at the 2026 World Cup Stadium in Miami, United States, on Sunday.
The Real Madrid midfielder previously scored once each against Croatia and Panama in the group stage. He then scored twice against Mexico in the round of 16 and two more against Norway in the quarterfinals.
The record makes Bellingham the first player in England history to score seven goals in a major tournament, surpassing Harry Kane's record at the 2018 and 2026 World Cups and Gary Lineker's record at the 1986 World Cup, which was six goals.
