The US Central Command announced on Thursday morning that the 12th wave of attacks on Iran had been completed.
“Our forces have completed another round of strikes against Iran, for the twelfth night in a row.”
She added that it targeted “Iranian military sites including naval capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets.”
It claimed that these attacks “further undermine Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels.”
She added that US forces targeted dozens of Iranian land-based military sites this month, coinciding with the resumption of a naval blockade against Iran.
It reported that it had diverted nine commercial vessels and disabled one, to prevent these ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports.
She pointed out that more than 50,000 American troops are deployed throughout the Middle East.
The deputy governor of Khuzestan announced that two US missile attacks targeted an area near the city of Ahvaz and an asphalt storage depot near the city of Ramshir in southwestern Iran.
In a related context, Iranian television reported hearing an explosion in the city of Sirik in Hormozgan province in the south of the country, without any immediate information on the extent of the damage or the causes of the explosion.
Kuwaiti army announces it has thwarted attacks by "hostile drones"
In a related context, the Kuwaiti army announced early Thursday that its air defenses were repelling attacks by “hostile drones,” while Iranian strikes targeting the country continued.
A statement from the General Staff of the Army reported that “Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting attacks by hostile drones, following the heinous Iranian aggression,” adding that “any sounds of explosions heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks.”
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that it had carried out drone attacks targeting “American military sites” in Kuwait.
In a statement, he said the attacks targeted a military equipment depot, a Patriot air defense system, and a hangar housing an MQ-9 drone inside Ali Al Salem Air Base.
He added that the attacks targeted sites where US forces are stationed inside Camp Al-Adiri, as well as two helicopter hangars, claiming that there were deaths and injuries among US forces, and damage to a number of helicopters and drones.
The Revolutionary Guard also claimed that it targeted a communications tower in response to what it described as American attacks targeting communications towers inside Iran.
For its part, the American website Axios reported that the United States has reused B-1 strategic bombers to carry out strikes targeting sites belonging to the Revolutionary Guard inside Iran.
The website added that the bombers took off from an airbase in the United Kingdom and were tracked by specialized aircraft tracking websites as they flew towards Iranian airspace.
The website noted that these bombers were used during the attacks on Iran on February 28, but the United States did not announce their use in the new round of military operations.
