Argentina's legendary captain Lionel Messi sent a message to his teammates hours before the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday evening in New York against Spain.
Messi posted a group photo of the "Tango" team on his Instagram account and commented: "The best thing about all these years has not been just the titles, but the whole journey. Sharing every day with this team, competing together, getting back up in difficult times, and enjoying every step."
He added: "Thank you to all my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone who works daily to keep this national team as one family."
Messi concluded by saying: "Whatever happens tomorrow, this team has written a story that we will never forget and that no one can erase."
It is worth noting that veteran star Lionel Messi (39 years old) led his national team to win the title of champion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, for the first time since the legend Diego Maradona led "Argentina" to win the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
