Internal medicine specialist Lyudmila Laba revealed that some digestive problems may be one of the causes of migraines.
According to her, migraines, which are recurring episodes of severe headache, do not necessarily indicate a vascular problem, but may be caused by inflammatory processes in the digestive system. The doctor points out that vascular spasms can occur in the stomach or duodenum as a result of swelling or inflammation, leading to pain that radiates to the head in waves, accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
She says: "Regardless of where it occurs, it will travel to the head, because all the blood vessels are interconnected, the number of nerve endings is much greater, and the pain is more intense in that area."
