Media reports revealed that the transfer of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah to Turkish club Besiktas is still contingent on agreeing to a set of conditions set by the Egyptian national team cptain.
According to reports, Salah and his agent have reached a near-final agreement with Besiktas for him to join their ranks starting from the 2026-2027 season. However, the Egyptian national team captain has set a strict condition before the official signing to avoid a repeat of what happened to him in his last experience with Liverpool.
According to Turkish journalist Ertan Sozgun, Besiktas officials asked Mohamed Salah about his stance on sitting on the bench, and his response was decisive, as he said: "I want to play in all matches, and I want to contribute to every match."
Salah also assured the Turkish club officials of his ability to play in more than one attacking position, adding: "I can also play on the wing and I can even occupy the position behind the striker from time to time."
The report indicated that if a final agreement is reached, Mohamed Salah is ready to end his vacation early and join the team's training camp.
The past few days have witnessed controversy within Besiktas club, after the team’s fans demanded that the club president sign Mohamed Salah, during the presentation ceremony of the new arrival Leandro Trossard, increasing speculation about the possibility of the Egyptian national team captain moving to the Turkish league.
Mohamed Salah officially left the Reds after the end of last season, without announcing his next destination.
Salah played for Liverpool for nine years, between 2017 and 2026, during which he achieved many individual and collective accomplishments, most notably winning the English Premier League title twice and the Champions League once.
